Applications Being Accepted for the
2010 AUA Foundation Research Scholars Program

The application cycle for the 2010 Research Scholars Program is now open at www.UrologyHealth.org/ResearchScholars. One-year scholarships are available to MD and PhD candidates conducting urologic research under the mentorship of a senior researcher or surgeon-scientist, including an award supported by the AUA Southeastern Section Research Scholar Endowment Fund. This award will support an investigator conducting research within the geographic boundaries of the AUA Southeastern Section. Candidates must be within five years of having completed residency or doctorate. The application deadline is August 24, 2009. The award period will commence on July 1, 2010 and end on June 30, 2011.

This year will mark the 35th year of the Research Scholars Program! Since its inception in 1975, the program has provided scholarships and awards for more than 460 young investigators. Many awardees are still active researchers and surgeon-scientists. A number of Scholars are recognized as prominent contributors to urologic research and serve in key leadership positions in the AUA Foundation, AUA, private companies and educational institutions around the world.
